Haitians use the Haitian Gourd but when they talk about money, they use the Haitian Dollar. When someone in Haiti tells you "This costs $5.00" it will cost approximatley $0.60 U.S. cents; which is 25 Gourds. Confused? No worries!

1. Multiply the amount of Haitian Dollars by Five which will give you the total in Gourds
2. Divide the total amount of Gourds by 40 (approximatley*) to get the total for U.S. Dollars
